You Make it Happen

Novato Girl Scout Day Camp at Stafford Lake is 100% volunteer-run. From planning to execution, it takes a dedicated group to deliver a quality program that brings smiles to more than 250 girls, Our camp takes a team approach to developing programs and systems to ensure smooth operations. No experience is necessary, training is provided!

Volunteer opportunities include (for the full list, go here):
  • Unit Leaders: Working as a team of 2-3 adults, our unit leaders guide a group 16-25 campers (depending upon the age level) through their daily activities for the week. Units are divided into age-groups, and each group has assigned daily activities. Camp aides (girls aged 13-18) assist leaders in the unit.
  • Crafts Team: Volunteers team up to run a craft station at camp. The crafts team helps to develop craft workshops, prepare materials and guide campers through completion of their craft.
  • Cooking Team: Assist the Cooking Manager in the "kitchen" area at camp as units prepare meals daily. Oversee the safe and clean use of cooking supplies, assist with shopping, and help maintain the equipment.
  • Program Team: Lead or assist with leading a program workshop related to the annual camp theme. Help prepare materials for that workshop.

All onsite camp volunteers must be registered members of Girl Scouts, with a current background check on file. Please visit https://www.gsnorcal.org/en/join-girl-scouts/become-a-girl-scout.html to begin the process. All onsite volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID or provide a negative COVID test before camp.

Your commitment to volunteer at Novato Girl Scout Day Camp will allow more girls to enjoy the camp experience! Please register yourself as a volunteer today! It's not too late if the registration deadline has already closed! Contact us for assistance.
